Materials vs Listings
When working on Nexus ReGen, you'll manage both Materials (private) and Listings (public). Understanding the difference helps you keep your project planning organised while maximising marketplace opportunities.
What are Materials?
Materials are private records that sit within your projects. They're part of your internal planning and are only visible to you and your team members. Think of them as your project's material register or inventory.
Materials help you:
Track what materials you have available or need
Plan quantities and logistics internally
Keep records of materials before deciding whether to export/import them
Organise your project's material positions
Materials are NOT visible on the marketplace and won't receive enquiries from other users.
What are Listings?
Listings are live, public advertisements on the marketplace. When you're ready to buy, sell, or source materials, you create a listing to make your requirement or availability visible to the entire Nexus ReGen network.
Listings help you:
Advertise materials you want to export
Connect with suppliers, buyers, and other contractors
Receive enquiries from interested parties
Listings ARE visible on the marketplace and can be found by other users searching for opportunities.
When to use Materials vs Listings
Use Materials when:
You're still planning your project
You want to track materials internally before trading
You're not ready to make them public yet
You need a private record for your team
Use Listings when:
You're ready to trade on the marketplace
You want to find a home for surplus materials
You need to source materials from suppliers or other projects
You want to receive enquiries from the network
How to convert a Material into a Listing
When you're ready to make a private material public, you can easily convert it into a listing:
Navigate to My Projects and open the relevant project
Find the material you want to list
Click the Create Listing or List on Marketplace button
Review and complete the listing details
Publish to make it visible to the marketplace
Your material record stays in your project, and a listing is created on the marketplace.
